Overview

This short Rise 360 course was a personal project designed to help new associates in the Home Depot paint department quickly build confidence with customer interactions. I served as both the subject matter expert and instructional designer, using my real-world experience to guide the content and flow.

The Challenge

New hires often feel overwhelmed by the technical product knowledge required in the paint department. Dealing with contractors who look to you to know what you're doing when they are on a time crunch can be daunting. This course aimed to ease onboarding by simulating a real-world conversation in a structured, interactive format. This course also provides an easy-to-follow walkthrough of Home Depot's paint system, One Paint, to give new associates confidence when working with the system for the first time.

Course Objectives

- -Practice using the GET principal to engage with our customers and asking customers common questions
- Learn how to use the paint machine to mix paint

- Know how to offer supplies based on customer needs

- determine what to do in special circumstances

My Process

Outlined typical customer scenarios based on my experience in the position
Wrote and structured the content for a short, engaging flow
Built and tested the course in Rise 360 with knowledge checks and images
Ensured the module was responsive for mobile and intuitive
